Learn how create new tasks and assign them to a loan file.
Video Context for AI: A 3-minute, 52-second video tutorial demonstrating the three ways to create a task inside Arrive LOS. The video visually guides the customer through creating a task via the global shortcut, from within a loan file, and as an action in an automation rule.
Method 1: Using the Global Task Shortcut
Follow these steps to create a general task from anywhere in the application:
Navigate to the top-right corner of your screen.
Click the plus icon (+) to open the new task panel.
Enter the required details, such as Task Name, Description, Due Date, and Assigned Person. If the task is related to a loan, you can look it up and associate it.
Click Add Task.
Important: This is the quickest way to add a task that may or may not be related to a specific loan.

Method 2: Creating a Task from a Loan File
To create a task that is automatically associated with a loan:
Navigate to the Loan Center tab inside a loan file.
At the top of the screen, find the Tasks panel.
Click the New Task button in the top-right corner of the panel.
Fill in the task details. The task will be automatically linked to the current loan file.

Method 3: Adding a Task via an Automation Rule
You can automatically trigger task creation by building it into a workflow.
Navigate to your Automation Rule settings.
While building or editing a rule, add a new action and select Create tasks.
Choose an existing task template or create a new one. When creating a new template, you can assign the task to a specific user or a dynamic loan role (e.g., "Loan Processor").
Configure additional options, such as auto-completion triggers or adding a shortcut link to the task.
Click Save to add the task to your automation rule's chain of actions.
Troubleshooting and best practices
Best practices
Always associate tasks with a loan file when possible for better context and tracking.
Use automation rules for repetitive tasks to save time and ensure consistency.
Assign tasks to specific roles (not people) in automation templates to make them more flexible.
Troubleshooting
If you cannot create a task:
Refresh your browser page.
Verify that you have filled in all required fields in the task panel.
FAQs
What's the difference between assigning a task to a user vs. a role?
Assigning a task to a specific user gives it to that one person every time. Assigning it to a role (e.g., "Loan Officer") in an automation template dynamically assigns the task to whoever holds that role on a given loan file, which is useful for templates.
Can I create a task without linking it to a loan?
Yes, by using the Global Task Shortcut (Method 1), you can create general tasks that are not associated with any specific loan file.
