We strongly recommend that you test the borrower experience by going through the process yourself before you start sending out your POS link. This will give you a better understanding of the system as a whole and help you understand what applying for a loan in ARIVE is like from the borrower's perspective.
The first and most important step is to open a new Incognito Window. Any time that you are logging into multiple different ARIVE accounts in one computer, you should always use Incognito Windows to do so, as this will ensure that cached browser data does not confuse the system. In Chrome these are called Incognito Windows, other web browsers may call them Private Browsing or something else.
Go to your POS URL via the Incognito Window and create your borrower account. (As a reminder, you can find your personal POS URL by clicking your profile icon in the top right corner of ARIVE, then clicking the Copy icon next to where it says Borrower Portal. This copies your personal POS URL to your clipboard, and you can then paste it anywhere you like.)
You must use an email address that is different from the email address associated with your ARIVE account. If you do not have a secondary email address you can use for this, most email providers allow you to add a suffix to an email address to make a unique variation that will still receive email into the same account's inbox by adding "+something" just before the @ in the email address. For example, if your email address is bob@broker.com, you could use bob+borrower@broker.com. Emails sent to this address would still go to bob@broker.com, but the system would recognize the email as unique.
When you receive the verification email shown above, be sure to right click the link and click "Open link in incognito window".
Then you can proceed as normal through the 1003 just like the borrowers do. Since you are doing this in an Incognito Window, you can have the LOS open in your regular browser window also and freely switch back and forth between them.
We recommend that you complete at least one "test" loan application, and after submitting the application also try out the process of sending Client Needs from the LOS and then responding to them through the Borrower Portal.
Always make sure that you use an Incognito Window whenever going into your Borrower test account.
